Abstract:
The presentation will consist of two parts: In a first section, the situation of a young researcher is considered who has just graduated from a master program or has completed a PhD and would like to identify a promising area of future research. In a second section, questions are addressed which are related to presenting research results successfully and getting papers accepted by renowned journals. Operations Research will serve as the area which provides the background of the presentation. The questions addressed and the conclusions provided will be more general, though.
